Budgie or Finch? Which do you recommend?
I would like to get either a budgie or two finches.
But which is the easier pet to care for? I am aware that neither is a breeze, but which can be home alone (in its cage of course) when I'm at work/school and not become angry with me?
I would also like the pros (good things) and cons (bad things) of both if you have experience in this field of pet care. =)

Budgies that are hand-fed are much easier to tame and are more social. Ones that aren't hand-fed can take several months to hand tame. They are usually shy and nervous. Males are less aggressive than females. Also, they don't have egg laying problems like females. I highly recommend buying a single male if you want it to bond closely to you. Two budgies will usually bond close to each other. A single budgie is fairly easy to care for. You change the cage liner each day, clean off any poop on toys or perches, and change the food and water. Give the budgie some time out of the cage once it gets settled in to its new home. This will be at least a week. Spend time talking to it and trying to finger tame it. Budgies need to eat a well balanced diet with fruits, veggies, and cuttlebone for calcium. They love to eat millet as a treat. You can use millet as a reward when you budgie steps onto your finger or for any other type of training. The only possible con of a budgie is if you get one that is very timid and not social. They can take a long time to tame and may bite you.
If you're thinking of getting finches, I recommend zebra finches or society finches. They are hardy and easier to take care of than some other finches. Finches make interesting sounds, for example, zebra finches go "beep beep." It's a funny, cheerful sound. They are easy to take care of and eat foods similar to budgies. Two finches will keep each other company. Finches don't usually care to bond with their owner. If you keep two finches, get two of the same sex. If you buy a male and female, be prepared for breeding. Finches are excellent breeders. You won't be able to hand tame a finch like you would a budgie. Finches are timid and shy and not much into people. They like to swing and play with their toys or fly around their cage. You don't need to take them out of the cage. Finches don't need wing clippings, only nail trimmings. Budgies need both wings and nails trimmed. If you don't have a lot of time to spend with your bird, then I'd recommend going with the finches. The only con of having a finch is that they are difficult to tame and don't usually care for people. You can't cuddle up with a finch.
